Top of the morning to ya, constituents – and Happy New Year! What a better way to get back into the swing of things at work than ignore the piled up emails and update you degenerates on where things stand for the WiseGuys.

This has been a wild #BowlSzn in terms of ATS thus far and we’re in the final stretch of it. Our WiseGuys sources that have been around 55% over the course of two full NCAAF seasons are checking in at a collective 44% when tallying and going with the majority pick.
Hedgerrin James, referred to as our fearless leader is checking in at 20/34 and 59% throughout #BowlSzn, your boy snuck closer to a measly 50% after a 4-0 day on New Year’s day, and Guy aka Daddy Fat Sacks has been on a 9 for 13 tear since Monday of this week to get back in the black and sitting at 53%.
With 5 bowls left not including the Clemson v LSU Natty, let’s check in on how our WiseGuys’ are doing individually.
Our absolute strongest source has been the personal picks from Ian Boyd of Football Outsiders – he’s sitting at a robust 67% (he’s dished out picks for 21 of the 34 games.)
The next strongest plays have been 3 of the predictive models that we subscribe to and will be kept anonymous for now – all of which are 56% or better and have given plays for all 34 games to date.
That’s not to say that the predictive model is the best route here though, 3 other analytics only based sources are under 50% and another is right at 17-17.
The touts or sharps or twitter warriors, whatever you want to call them, that are certainly relying on their own models but only divulge their picks, are all struggling for the most part as well; two sources specifically are carrying the fight for them.
Including the good and the bad, the 7 predictive model sources we use in the aggregation process are collectively sitting at a 48.9% hit rate ATS through #BowlSzn as of writing.
The aforementioned touts/sharps/twitter warriors are sitting at a 50.7% clip ATS and being carried by Boyd and John Ewing of the Action Network.
Both Boyd and Ewing obviously aren’t playing every single game. We don’t actually play every single game ourselves either. Our “picks” for #BowlSzn have not been sponsored like they are throughout the regular season; this little experiment has been two things – 1. a fun way to talk shit to each other and get the competitive juices flowing and 2. a great reminder to our amateur constituents that playing your spot and relying on +EV plays is the path to profitability.
With Cincy vs BC and THE VOLS vs Indiana today (picks to come later this afternoon), there are 5 games left total and then the Natty – let’s finish strong, fellas.
