Boyz, boyz, boyz…. Weeeeee baaaaaack with some major golf in the calendar year 2020!
In an unprecedented year for sports, the PGA Tour has delivered us a gift from the gods and now we are here to officially reap the rewards at TPC Hardin Park in foggy San Francisco, California.
Heading in to this weekend there are plenty of top 75 golfers coming back in to form and preparing to take on a challenging golf course that not only rewards bombers, but will require you to keep it in the VERY narrow fairway with severely penal rough all over the course. This course will reward those who can bomb it off the tee, can keep it in the center and slap long-iron game that can withstand not only the elements but the field.
If you don’t know what and who to look for this week, there isn’t time to research, so let’s get to the picks!
Matchups
Brooks over Rahm +105
This is maybe my favorite bet of the weekend. Brooks Koepka is plus money in a major tournament coming off of some of his best golf year-to-date and looking to three-peat this event… GIMME SOME OF DAT. I don’t care how well Rahm has been playing, this is different. Don’t hesitate to throw a few units on this one (I did) and sit back and enjoy the major show.
Berger over Fowler -125
We are very high on Berger this week so this is a number that is very attractive. Rickie is starting to get it figured out with all of the changes he has made coming out of the break, but the margin for error here is tiny and the mental frustration that comes with missing a few fairways or greens is extremely detrimental. Bottom line, I think Berger has a great weekend and Rickie could struggle. Take the consistent hot hand.
Rory over Rahm -130
Two studs head to head. we are planning on Rory bouncing back, simple as that.
Top 5, 10, 20
Matty Wolff Top 20 +375
How much needs to be said here? Bright up and coming fearless ballstriker with nothing to lose heading in to one of his first major events. Wolff has been playing exceptional golf since the restart and with odds like this, you just can’t pass up a Top 20 performance. Sprinkle a unit here and let’s see what happens.
Daniel Berger Top 10 +300
If you have watched a competitive golf event in the last few weeks, you shouldn’t need an explanation here. Recent form is insane. Without the numbers in from of me I think he has 6 Top 10s in his last 7 events and finished last week in memhpis 71-67-67-65 on a tough golf course. At +300 this is a mortal lock
Xander Top 10 +155
Total Gamer and ready for the spotlight. Everything is in form here. Deep, accurate, putting. The number is tight at +155 but our WiseGuys like it and we do too
Outright Winners
Remember – we do not give out short odds winner here. We stick with (relatively) longshots here
Xander 20/1
Cantlay 30/1
Matthew Fitzpatrick 42/1
Tommy Fleetwood 45/1
We will probably have another writeup throughout the weekend so keep checking back. Otherwise, happy gambling out there boyz!
